A 2014 Canadian population study was undertaken and there were 319 patients with IBD involved in this. Of those, 17.6% reported lifetime use of CBD for their IBD, especially among patients with self-reported severe IBD, patients recently hospitalised, and patients with surgical history.
Of these, 91% of patients indicated improvement of IBD symptoms with CBD use; 83.9% reported improved abdominal pain, 48.2% had improved joint pain, and 28.6% reported improved diarrhea.(4)
This is a large amount of the subjects involved and may offer fresh hope for sufferers of IBD.
Patients also believed that cannabis improved their general well-being, stress level and sense of overall control over IBD. Surprisingly, 35.7% of patients believed that CBD worked better than corticosteroids, and nearly 43% reported fewer side effects with CBD use compared with corticosteroids. (Corticosteroids are the medicine most likely to be prescribed for treatment and management of conditions associated with IBD).
In addition to this, 82.1% of users planned to continue using CBD for their IBD and 87.5% would recommend CBD to other patients for management of IBD.(4) For more information visit website #http://cbdsupreme.co.uk.
