Here is
the summary of the important events which took place from the start of this Corona virus outbreak, till now.
- The first case of unusual pneumonia was
reported on 8 December 2019 in China. The cause of this was completely
unknown.
- By 31 December 2019, the number of cases
increased in Wuhan, China. Wuhan is the port city with approximately 11
million populations. The cause was still unknown and thus was reported to
the WHO country office.
- Several cases reported worked at Huanan
Seafood Wholesale Market, which was shut on January 1, 2020.
- On January 5, researchers and health
experts anticipated the return of SARS virus as the symptoms were similar
- On January 7 officials announced it is a
completely new virus and the cure is not known. It was named as 2019-nCoV
- On January 11, the first death occurred
of a 61-year-old man who had purchased seafood from that market.
- By January 17, the second death in Wuhan
took place, Thailand had its first case and the US had already started
screening on the airports.
- On 30 January 2020, the outbreak was
declared as Public Health Emergency of International Concern by WHO.
The precautions:
On
February 5, 2020, the global community asked for US$675 Million
- to help the vulnerable countries from the
serious outbreak
- On 11 February 2020 “novel coronavirus”
was named COVID-19.
- 12 February 2020 UN activated its WHO0
led the crisis management team to tackle the problem and discovered ways
- By 24 February the expert team travel to
Italy to help the country
- In India- The first
case was confirmed on 30 January 2020, in a student who traveled from
Wuhan city to Kerala. Followed by 2 more cases by 3 February 2020.
- On March 2 a 45-year-old man was tested
positive in Delhi, who traveled back from Italy
In
the same month, a group of tourists from Italy was also tested positive who had
traveled to cities like Jaipur and Agra. And this way, events took place and
the infection entered our country.
