The ABCs of Asbestos Surveys: A Beginner's Guide

Asbestos, once hailed as a revolutionary material for its fire-resistant and insulating properties, has left a dark legacy of health hazards in its wake. While its use has been significantly restricted in recent decades, countless buildings constructed before regulations came into effect still contain asbestos survey  containing materials (ACMs). This presents a serious risk to the health and safety of occupants and workers. Asbestos surveying emerges as a critical tool in addressing this issue, prioritizing safety above all else.

One of the primary reasons asbestos poses such a significant risk is its ability to remain hidden within the structures of buildings. Asbestos was commonly used in various construction materials, including insulation, ceiling tiles, flooring, and roofing. Over time, these materials can degrade or become damaged, releasing asbestos fibers into the air. Without proper surveying, these hidden threats may go unnoticed until it's too late, leading to potentially deadly exposure.
