All About Grateful Dead Nike Bears!

 

Grateful Dead is a legendary rock band that was formed in 1965 in California. The band was and is still popular for various music styles such as rock, folk, jazz, country, gospel and blues etc. Their unique music is still enjoyed in various parts of the world to this day. To commemorate the band, Nike as partnered with Swoosh to launch Nike SB Dunk Low Grateful Dead bears or simply known as grateful dead Nike bears.This collection is also a tribute to the dancing bears drawn by Bob Thomas. It forms the rear cover art of the newly-launched shoe collection.

How is the collection?

This summer collection is highly coveted as only a limited number of shoes were produced by the sports company. It reminds one of the ‘three bears’ pack collection launched in 2006 by Nike SB. Along with the Chunky Dunky’s, this collection is shooting through every die-hard sneaker fan’s roof. Priced at $110, the demand for this shoe has broken all records. This collection is available in three colours – green, yellow and orange.

It also features fuzzy faux fur throughout the uppermost part of the shoes to create an image of a bear. The suede has been used for the overlays.In the ‘orange grateful bear’, the black jagged edges have been inspired from the bear’s jester collars. It also includes a stash pouch right behind the bear’s tongue, green on the midsole and blue rubber outsole.

The yellow grateful dead Nike bears will be released in selected skate shops through exclusive retailers. The quantity is extremely limited and therefore, the craze around this collection has shot through the roof.
