Getting to know more about flu vaccines

Influenza at times referred to as flu is a viral infection which is very contagious but the good thing is that it has a vaccine.  It is advisable to take the flu vaccine immediately it is available. But it is important to remember that, as long as the flu virus is in circulation, vaccines have to be offered throughout the period. So what are the benefits of the vaccines?
Pros:
Different viral strains begin to spread simultaneously. It is possible to be infected by a certain strain of the flu virus which is completely different from the flu shot that you got. But you can still benefit from the shot and thus, have a case which is less severe in case you contract a different flu strain.
With a flu shot, you are protected throughout for a year against the flu viral strain which was added to the flu vaccine that you receive.
When you get a seasonal flu vaccine, it can cut the risk of being able to become ill by about 60% among the entire population where you live
Above 75% of people who have flu-related death are over 65 years and thus the need to ensure that this age group is vaccinated to prevent such death from happening.
Those who are hospitalized with flu-related complications, 70% of them are ages 65  and above.
With a flu shot, it doesn’t make you be infected with the flu virus. These vaccines have viruses of the flu which are dead. The flu virus normally lives inside your body for up to one week before you start feeling sick. So if you are vaccinated and then you feel sick, it denotes that, you were infected before the vaccination.
