How to care for your airsoft guns

Have you bought your very first airsoft gun? Want to know how to extend the performance of the gun? Are you already into the game but are having issues with your guns? Then what you need is to get a good maintenance. Metallic airsoft guns are just like the real life weapons and thus require similar maintenance to keep them operational. From gunshot residue, to excess oil clogging, spring locks and more, you should expect your replica gun to give you such problems from time to time. Learning some good maintenance tricks can help get them back in shape.
Maintaining your gun
Irrespective of the kind of airsoft guns you may own or want to get, good maintenance culture is necessary to keep it functional. The main types of these guns out now are the gas powered types, the electric (battery) operated types and the spring types. All of these have different maintenance approach. This is why you should all the time make sure you have your facts checked right about any gun you want to buy or do buy a fore time. Poorly maintained guns could easily ruin your combat simulation play and even harm you in some not so rare cases.
Right maintenance
1. Get a gun cleaning kit from the store you purchase your airsoft guns. The kit should consist of some tube cleaning brushes, lubrication (silicon oil is more advised) and a cleaning cloth.
2. Always start out your cleaning by getting rid of gun barrel residue first. After that, you can then focus on ridding the piece of other dirt build ups at movable parts.
3. Apply few drops of lubricant to the movable sections of the gun.
4. Shoot a few rounds so the part can move and get the lubricant spreading to all the necessary places.
5. Clean off excess oil around and dirt too.
